Is too small for a public park or recreational facility and is not necessary or feasible for an <br />park or recreational use; I <br />Is already developed as a residential single-family house and is not open space, adjoining <br />open space, or needed for the enjoyment of any scenic beauty or the conservation of <br />natural resources. <br />Process <br />As part of the process to declare the Farland Property surplus, the District is required to adopt the <br />attached resolution. Highlights of the attached resolution include: <br />The Farland Property has been appraised and has a fair market value of $600,000. As an <br />older residential property, it is to be sold "as is" with no warranties or representations. <br />• Board authorizes, pursuant to the Surplus Land Act, sending a Notice of Availability <br />(attached) to: <br />o The Area Housing Authority of Ventura County <br />o The California Department of Housing and Community Development <br />o Conejo Valley Unified School District <br />• In accordance with Government Code Section 54222, the above entities have sixty (60) <br />days from the date the Notice was sent to notify the District of its interest in acquiring the <br />Farland Property. <br />• If those entities have no interest in acquiring or if no agreement is reached with those <br />entities on sales price and terms, or lease terms, the District may market and sell the <br />property to the general public. <br />• The property is leased and occupied by renters who will vacate by, and possession for any <br />purchaser will be available on September 1, 2022. <br />Delegates the authority to the General Manager, or designee, to conduct all negotiations, <br />sign and submit all documents, including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, <br />marketing, listing with a broker, amendments, and payment requests, which may be <br />necessary to complete the sale and disposition of the Farland Property. <br />Conclusion <br />The Community, the District, and District staff have been very appreciative of the gift Donna Fargo <br />provided. The gift has served the District well for over 40 years; however, staff believes declaring <br />the Farland Property as surplus and utilizing the funds from a potential sale in a manner yet to be <br />determined, Donna Fargo's legacy and love of the District will continue for future generations. <br />
