Donna, along with her
partner, Lois Landon, moved to the Conejo Valley in the 1950s and became deeply involved in
the community, most notably with Conejo Valley Days events. Additionally, Donna and Lois had
a love of the Conejo Recreation and Park District. In November 1979, Donna gifted the Farland
(short for Fargo -Landon) Clouse/Property to the District.
As a District property, the Farland Property has housed various outside renters. Since 2007, 4
has housed CRPD staff, in exchange for $700 per month and 10 hours per week maintaining the
house and grounds.
Surplus Property
Staff recenfly evaluated the Fadand Property, balancing the need for the facility with needed
repairs (roof, tree removals, ceiling, flooring, plumbing, and electrical - estimated to exceed
$200,000). As a result, staff determined the Farland Property is not needed for District purposes,
as the Farland 'property:
• Is not planned or contemplated to be used for any District purposes pursuant to any written
District plan adopted by the Board;
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES
403 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360-4223
805-495-6471 1 Fax: 805-497-3199 1 parks@crpd.org I www.crpd.org
