$3.3 million in funding in the California State Budget as fiscal relief for CPRD. Additionally, our longest
standing partnership with the City in a variety of ways has been expanded even further, as the City is
funding the Teen/Goebel Center improvements, improvements to the new park at Paige Lane and 23
Fwy, and improvements to Rancho Potrero Community Equestrian Center.
During the California Special District's Conference, CRPD was recognized by the Special District's
Leadership Foundation and "Transparency Certificate of Excellence" for conducting its affairs in an open
and transparent manner.
The Board of Directors' actions and activities are ultimately taken in support of CRPD's mission: 10
enrich the quality of life for our community by preserving and enhancing recreational opportunities, parks
and open space. YY
The Board's actions and decisions are guided by CRPD's mission and seek to improve the parks and
programs for the people in the Conejo Valley, and to support CRPD staff serving the people in our
community on the front lines. With the Board's direction and support, CRPD staff have been working
tirelessly through this past year in the midst of routinely changing public health rules and regulations.
Recreation staff have kept programs and events going — tweaking them as required by the public health
rules - while parks staff never stopped working to keep our community centers, parks, and trails open,
safe and clean.
Attached to this memo, is a bullet point list (for the history books) of some of CRPD staff's observations
from throughout the District about some of 2021's biggest challenges, as well as some of the best things
that happened in 2021 (Mildly edited and in no particular order).
