• Conducted annual Board retreat and Strategic Planning Study Session. <br />• Completed annual audit report and updated reserve policies. <br />• Adjusted Budget to reflect increased expenses and lost revenues related to ongoing covid-related <br />limitations to recreation programming, as well as facility and field rentals for sports, arts, picnics, <br />and other gatherings. <br />• Updated (comprehensively) District's Personnel Policy Manual. <br />• Worked with City of Thousand Oaks (City) to update and improve the Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks <br />Teen Center and the Goebel Adult Community Center. CRPD staff will manage project design <br />and improvements to City -owned buildings and provides $3,000,000 toward the cost of the <br />estimated $4,600,000 project. Awarded construction bid to Solex Construction for $3.9 million. <br />• Closely follow and participate in the City's General Plan Update process, including providing <br />comments on the proposed updates to the Land Use Element. <br />• Award Bid for improvements to the Conejo Creek Dog Park, including large shade structures, <br />restroom, paved parking lot, additional trees, landscaping, and bioswale. Completed project and <br />held ribbon cutting for the $1,100,000 project in October. <br />• Entered into agreements with City, Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA), and <br />RideOn Therapeutic Horsemanship (RideOn). CRPD acquires the 20 -acre Rancho Potrero <br />Community Equestrian Center (RPCEC) from COSCA. City acquires the library parcel from <br />CRPD. CRPD agrees to use a combination of funds from City, CRPD and RideOn to make <br />improvements at the RPCEC. RideOn agrees to operate and manage public facility for equestrian <br />boarding, therapeutic riding, a public rental string, and to develop other public equestrian and <br />recreational activities over time. <br />• Awarded contract, in concert with City and COSCA, to SoCal Brush to create defensible space of <br />100' from structures for firefighters to protect property from wildfires. SoCal Brush annually <br />removes 11 11701 000 square feet (257 acres) of vegetation. <br />• Extended Contracts with Azteca Landscaping and EMB for landscape maintenance and custodial <br />services at various park facilities. <br />• Updated Memorandum of Understanding between CRPD and the Arts Council of the Conejo <br />Valley (ACCV). <br />• Extended License Agreements with Southern California Edison (Edison) for access to Fiore <br />Playfields and Sapwi Trails Community Park. <br />• Inducted Karen Lindsay, Steve Wiley and Jim Gilmore into Gratitude Circle <br />• Reviewed, Approved and Adopted FY 21/22 and FY 22/23 Operating and Capital Budgets along <br />with 10 -Year Capital Improvement Plan. <br />• Approved funds for 4 COSCA Ranger positions, vehicles, and equipment; updated job description <br />and hired Supervising Park Ranger. <br />
