Recreation Division Highlights Page 3 of 4 Revised 11.2021
Thousand Oaks Community Center
Los Feliz Programming
In collaboration with Youth Outreach, the Teen Center is joining Thousand Oaks Community Center in adding programs serving the Los Feliz area. A Teen Club will now be offered on
Thursdays starting on December 2. Teens will have a space for support, resources, activities, positive interactions, and snacks… all free of charge!
Parents’ Night Out
Thousand Oaks Center had the first Saturday night fun on November 20. Parents enjoy a night
out from 5:30-9:00pm, while their kids enjoy a themed night of game and activities in our gym. This month’s theme was Glow nite. Kids entered a fantastical world of blacklights; every game,
sport and activity were florescent or neon. Kids made glow-in-the-dark ice cubes and jello, and even designed their own glow socks!
Dos Vientos Community Center
Fall Break Camps
What were you doing over Fall Break?
You will get a variety of answers, depending on who you ask, at the
Dos Vientos Center…
Charlie would tell you about all the
friends that he made hiking, playing dodgeball, and doing crafts at the
Winter Adventures Club.
Flo would tell you about the thrill of
safely learning to use a bow during three days of Archery Camp.
Dax would explain how he was creating amazing movies with stop motion animation using LEGO bricks during Animation Studio week.
Olivia might tell you about some of the Thanksgiving entrees that she learned how to prepare with 14 other friends at the DVC Fall Cooking Camp.
It was great to have so much activity taking place over Fall Break, and we are looking forward to these programs, and more, taking place over the two weeks of Winter Break.
