October 7, 2021 <br />Page 4 <br />Recreation Supervisor, is partnering with Adelante and working with the Shadows <br />Apartment offering two classes on site -- running a Kids Club and a Parent and Me <br />class. There may be an opportunity in the future of partnering with Adelante for after <br />school tutoring and a "Fun Friday" similar to what is done at Acacia School and the <br />Conejo Creek Condo area. Callis stated staff is still waiting for information on AB5 <br />and independent contractors; she will report back to the Board when that information <br />is received. The "Reign of Terror" has had a slow start but organizers hope it will pick <br />up over the next couple of weeks; CRPD is helping with additional marketing. Callis <br />referred to a shared Museum flyer she provided the Board this evening; it's been <br />revamped and is in final draft status. A graphic was shared that indicated where <br />registered class takers reside, both in and out of district boundaries. <br />C. Management Services Division Repoi� <br />Smith reminded Board members of details regarding CRPD's per them and travel <br />reimbursement policy. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported Smith will be recognized tomorrow night by the Greater Conejo Valley <br />Chamber of Commerce as one of their "40 over 40" Honorees. The Thousand Oaks <br />Rotary Club Street Fair will be on Sunday October 17th, from 9am to 4pm; CRPD will <br />have a booth and Board members are welcome to join staff there at any time. Friedl <br />reported there will be a need for a closed session this evening with no report expected. <br />The Board was provided with a copy of the "Very Large Community Events at Conejo <br />Creek North and Conejo Creek South Parks" Board memo dated November 15, 2018. <br />It has recently become relevant as Brian Hynes is looking to do the Borderline Party at <br />the Conejo Creek North Park. He initially asked to be allowed 3000 attendees; that would <br />require Board approval and a work around of the current policy. Hynes reduced the <br />number to 1000, which brings it underneath the policy threshold. The Party in the Park <br />will be on Saturday, November 6th. On Sunday, November 7th there will be a prayer vigil <br />at around 1:00 pm to be held at the Borderline Memorial at CCN; it is being planned by <br />local Interfaith leaders with help from the City's mayor and City staff. <br />E. Directors Reports and Follow-up Reports on Meetings/Conferences Attended <br />Huffer attended the Conejo Senior Volunteer Program's (CSVP) Volunteer Fair at Conejo <br />Creek North. It was very impressive; Spivack and her team did a great job. Yesterday, <br />Huffer enjoyed breakfast at the Goebel Caf6 and also had his final tax session at the <br />GAAC. Holt attended Larry Horner's funeral; it was an incredible service. Cusworth <br />reported "Voices of Old Conejo" will be in its final weekend at the Stagecoach Inn this <br />weekend. STI is considering showing movies and having raffles (a la McCrea Ranch); <br />she expressed appreciation for the cooperation between all the museum staff and <br />volunteers and their support of each other's programs.
