Youth Outreach Summary Report Page 2 of 6 Revised 07.2021 SCHOOL REPORT Activities Conducted by Youth Outreach Staff each Month: • Continued recruitment process of CVUSD students that could benefit from Youth Outreach services. • Recruitments are referred by CVUSD administrators, counselors, and Youth Outreach staff. • Provided supervision and support for students during Cohort A & B at the Teen Center. • Provided Zoom group meetings with Outreach students. • Connected with school administrators and school counselors. • Sent revised parent/student permission forms to schools. • Communication of Youth Outreach scope of services. • Sent out fillable parent permission slip online to parents. Additional Tasks Completed • Provided an updated Cycles for Success bike request form to school administrators and counselors. • Provided bikes, locks, and helmets to needy teens referred by school counselors through Cycles for Success. • Worked with Middle School counselors to recruit students for the summer camp sponsored by the Safe Passage Youth Foundation • Developed Summer camp registration and medical form and began to map out camp curriculum, schedule outing reservations, and order supplies. • Finalize two-week camp details. • Lead camp, June 21-July 2 9am-3pm for 20 middle schoolers. Current Scope of Services • Follow up with students from 2020-2021 School Year. • Youth Outreach Zoom Small Groups. • Small Group In-Person Support for High-Risk Students. • Remote Learning under supervision of Youth Outreach at Teen Center. • Cycles for Success Program. • Working with High School and Middle School Counselors. • Helping students with public transportation to attend Cohort and small groups. • Supporting teens with homework and how to access free tutorial sites. • Maintaining communication with students, parents, teachers, and school counselors to ensure students are up to date with assignments and homework. • Helping students adjust to online learning and returning back to the classroom and how to make new goals. • Spending time on specific needs and wellbeing for physical and emotional wellness. • Working with community partners to keep supplies updated. • Communicating all the benefits of the Youth Outreach program with parents. • Helping students with time management, study skills and healthy habits. • Allowing students to share how COVID-19 has impacted their life and other obstacles during remote learning classroom breaks, zoom and small groups. • Creating a school like environment for online learning at the Teen Center with structure and rules. • While following health screenings, check in procedures and wellness, we are creating a safe, clean area for students to learn. • Work on summer camp curriculum.
