A Resolution of i of • <br />of the Conejo Recreation and Park Distric-1 <br />Adopting CEQA Findings, <br />Adopting the Conejo Community Park and Center Project <br />Mitigated Negative Declaration, and Adopting the Project's <br />Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program <br />WHEREAS, in 1972, the Conejo Community Park was acquired by the Conejo Recreation and <br />Park District; <br />WHEREAS, on July 18, 2019, as part of the 10 Year Capital Improvement Program the Board of <br />Directors approved the Conejo Community Park and Center Needs Assessment Project for <br />FY2019/2020; <br />WHEREAS, in October 2019, there were four open community meetings to provide feedback and <br />input towards the park facility assessment; <br />WHEREAS, in February 2020, there were two open community meetings to confirm direction of <br />the project, and also provide feedback and input towards the park facility assessment; <br />WHEREAS, on March 5, 2020, a new concept plan was presented to the Board of Directors and <br />staff was authorized to continue working with staff, general public and community stakeholder <br />groups and retain design consultants to further develop detailed plans; <br />WHEREAS, on June 18, 2020, the Board of Directors authorized a contract with Andrew Goodwin <br />Design for design services; <br />WHEREAS, in November 2020, there were two open community meetings to present the <br />Schematic Design Plans and confirm direction of the project; <br />WHEREAS, in May 2021, there were two open community meetings to present the Design <br />Development Plans and confirm direction of the project; <br />WHEREAS, from June 2020 through June 2021, Conejo Recreation and Park District staff and <br />Andrew Goodwin Designs developed plans and coordinated impacts with the District's <br />environmental consultant, Rincon Consultants, which prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative <br />Declaration for the Board's adoption; <br />WHEREAS, as required by the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), an Initial Study <br />was conducted and it appeared appropriate that Mitigated Negative Declaration be used and one <br />was prepared for the Project, and on May 3, 2021, a notice of intent to adopt the proposed Initial <br />Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration was circulated; <br />
