Authorize the General Manager to approve first amendment of existing Option and Site <br />Lease Agreement with AT&T Wireless (Exhibit 1), for an emergency backup generator at <br />Dos Vientos Community Park. <br />2. Authorize the General Manager to approve second amendment of existing Option and Site <br />Lease Agreement with T -Mobile (Exhibit 2), currently assigned to Vertical Bridge, for an <br />emergency backup generator at Dos Vientos Community Park. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Consultants working on behalf of AT&T Wireless and T-Mobile/Vertical Bridge are proposing <br />standby emergency generators for existing wireless facilities at Dos Vientos Community Park. <br />New state regulations encourage cell providers to have at least 72 hours of backup power for <br />each cell site that they maintain. The reserve power ensures uninterrupted communication among <br />first responders over specific networks. The backup generators supporting these systems are <br />used for emergency purposes only, with an occasional burst to exercise the motor. <br />The approved lease agreements stipulate that the equipment must comply with all environmental <br />and industrial hygiene laws. Original agreements can be found at: www.crpd.orq/AT&T2005 and <br />www.crpd.orq/T-Mobile2012 (with first amendment). <br />A T& T Wireless <br />In February of 2005, the Board approved the original lease agreement with AT&T Wireless, <br />formerly New Cingular Wireless, at Dos Vientos Community Park (DCP). The provider is currently <br />proposing to locate a generator on the south side of the community center, behind the trash <br />enclosure building and the AT&T equipment room.
