CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />May 20, 2021 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br /> <br />Nickles called the meeting to order at 6:01pm and Nickles led the flag salute. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br /> <br />Directors Absent: <br /> <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Smith, <br />Senior Park Planner Mooney, Executive Assistant Reynders and IT <br />Assistant Bermudez <br /> <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br /> Conejo Valley Botanic Garden (CVBG) <br /> <br />Beverly Brune, President, CVBG, shared a PowerPoint presentation that included a tour <br />of the garden and its various specialty areas, including the cactus garden, the trail of trees, <br />the salvia garden, and the Kids’ Adventure Garden. Recent projects include replacing and <br />repositioning of a 500-ft fence, relocating of a large tree and moving the salvia garden. <br />Many volunteers help to keep the Garden going. Brune encouraged Board members to <br />visit the garden’s new website, which was recently unveiled. She thanked the District for <br />the projects that have been made possible due to CRPD grant money. Brune answered <br />Board Members’ questions and was thanked for her informative presentation. <br /> <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br /> It was moved by Holt, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br /> <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />A. Approval of Minutes of May 6, 2021 Regular Board Meeting <br />
