These applications are for requests that will address easily identifiable park and recreational <br />needs such as adding park furnishings, addressing maintenance issues, and purchasing or <br />enhancing recreational equipment. The projects must be completed in 12 months or less. <br />As part of the SCE settlement funds from the Woolsey Fire, in June 2020 thE) Board Erected staff <br />to provide additional funding to the Annual CIP Grant Funds to enhance the program as a "double <br />match". There are two categories for requests: <br />NON-MATCHING -The request for funds may be up to a maximum of $10,000 (instead of $5,000) <br />for each project. <br />MATCHING -The request for matching funds must be a minimum of $10,000 (instead of $5,000) <br />and no more than the maximum of $50,000 (instead of $25,000) for each project. The raising of <br />necessary funds will be the responsibility of the individual or organization proposing the project. <br />The District cannot assist with the funding and will match the funds of the project proposal when <br />approved. <br />Since its inception (application period Fiscal Year 2009-2010 and project execution in Fiscal Year <br />2010-2011), approximately $937,000 has been granted over eleven grant cycles to various <br />organizations. <br />Fiscal Year 2020-2021 (Application) and Fiscal Year 2021-2022 (Project) <br />The application period of the 12th cycle of the program completed May 11, 2021. From the <br />applications, reviewed, and recommended by a staff committee, approximately $445,800 will be <br />granted and $30,000 loaned. <br />Projects receiving grants are for information only. The Board of Directors has already provided <br />the budget authority to award the grants. Individual grants are within the limit of the grant program <br />and General Manager's contracting authority.
