These applications are for requests that will address easily identifiable park and recreational needs such as adding park furnishings, addressing maintenance issues, and purchasing or enhancing recreational equipment. The projects must be completed in 12 months or less. There are two categories for requests: NON-MATCHING -The request for funds may be up to a maximum of $10,000 (instead of $5,000) for each project. MATCHING -The request for matching funds must be a minimum of $10,000 (instead of $5,000) and no more than the maximum of $50,000 (instead of $25,000) for each project. The raising of necessary funds will be the responsibility of the individual or organization proposing the project. The District cannot assist with the funding and will match the funds of the project proposal when approved. Since its inception (application period Fiscal Year 2009-2010 and project execution in Fiscal Year 2010-2011), approximately $937,000 has been granted over eleven grant cycles to various organizations. Fiscal Year 2020-2021 (Application) and Fiscal Year 2021-2022 (Project) The application period of the 12th cycle of the program completed May 11, 2021. From the applications, reviewed, and recommended by a staff committee, approximately $445,800 will be granted and $30,000 loaned. Projects receiving grants are for information only. The Board of Directors has already provided the budget authority to award the grants. Individual grants are within the limit of the grant program and General Manager's contracting authority. However, AYSO Region 9 and Conejo Valley Little League involve projects exceeding staff contracting authority and require Board approval.
