Recreation Division Highlights Page 3 of 5 Revised 05.2021
Conejo Community Center
Conejo Community Center has finished up a great season of programs and activities. Kiwanis came
to the center before Mother’s Day to help the children of Safe Passage create lovely Mother’s Day gifts. Kids were also spending some quality time in our parent/child classes where they made some
rain sticks and played a few games. The Conejo Community Center is looking forward to a great and busy summer!
Thousand Oaks Teen Center
Health and Safety Workshops
In just a few weeks’ time last month, the Teen Center certified 36 teens in CPR, First Aid, and
Babysitter’s Training. These workshops have gained popularity recently in these trying times. Parents (and teens) realize these are great skills to possess. The upcoming summer series of
workshops we have planned have almost all filled up already!
Teen Tech Convention
The Teen Center is once again looking forward to offering its Teen Tech Convention to Conejo Valley Unified School District 6th grade G.A.T.E. students on Wednesday, June 2 from 1:00-3:00pm.
The Convention, which is in its fourth year, will be offered via ZOOM this year. The program focuses on S.T.E.A.M. based “break out” presentations from current Teen Center class instructors. The
Convention has been very well received in the past, and also serves as a promotional tool for Teen Center summer programs. We are looking forward to a great afternoon!
