Our Volunteer Tax Coordinators have spent hundreds of hours adopting a
hybrid, virtual/in-person tax program this season. Beginning February 12th, CSVP began scheduling tax appointments. Clients came to two different locations at the Goebel Center where
they would have their documents scanned to our preparers working from home. With the IRS extension, CSVP transitioned to our in-person program on April 7 and will continue until May 14.
While following strict CDC guidelines and adjusting to many challenges and modifications, CSVP volunteers, thus far, have worked over 5,000 hours and have prepared 1,500 free tax returns,
bringing $1.2 million back to our community.
The Busy Bees
The Busy Bees have been working on the back patio at the Goebel Center. This
volunteer group handmakes hundreds of items every year including afghans, hats,
blankets, and clothing. CSVP donates these items to local partner agencies including
James Storehouse, Los Robles Hospital, Hospice of the Conejo, and ASA.
The Busy Bees were recently featured in the May 6 edition of the Acorn newspaper.
