DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported on several ongoing projects within the District. The Conejo Creek Dog Park <br />project is moving forward, with a pre -construction conference to be planned in the coming <br />weeks. A focus group met recently for the Borchard Skatepark project. The deadline for the <br />CIP double -matching grants just passed and $491,000 in total requests were received. Staff <br />met with the stakeholders for the Conejo Community Center and Park Assessment project <br />this week, with two public meetings planned in the coming weeks. Mooney will be <br />presenting a 10 -Year Capital Improvement Project Plan to the Board at an upcoming <br />meeting. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis reported that Zoom classes will be continuing at the community centers, <br />particularly those offered by the Goebel Adult Senior Center. In terms of staff hours, the <br />division has 47 less part-time employees than were on payroll in 2019, with <br />approximately two-thirds of the scheduled part-time staff hours. The Memorial Day <br />Concert in the Park has already sold out. The format for each remaining concert will be <br />determined at least 30 days in advance based on the COVID-19 prevention guidelines <br />at that time. The community centers recently began offering rentals of their indoor gyms, <br />but no reservations have been made as of yet. Adult sports leagues are up and running <br />again. The District is offering roughly half the number of classes this Summer compared <br />to 2019, but the classes being offered are filling up and there are adequate staff to run a <br />wide variety of programs. <br />(Holt left the meeting at 8:02pm) <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Smith had no report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl announced that there is a need for a closed session this evening with no report <br />expected. <br />Friedl reported he received a letter from the California Association for Park & Recreation <br />Indemnity (CAPRI) expressing concerns about the future of insurance rates in California <br />
