CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Nickles called the meeting to order at 6:00pm and Spivack led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt (via Zoom), Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Smith, Senior Park <br />Planner Mooney, Administrative Assistant Foster, and IT Assistant <br />Bermudez <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Goebel Adult Community Center/Conejo Senior Volunteer Program/Teen Center <br />Recreation Supervisor Patty Hamm reported on the services provided by the Goebel Adult <br />Community Center over the past year. The staff were challenged to think outside of the box in order <br />to provide programming in new ways, which resulted in parking lot Bingo events, virtual classes via <br />Zoom, and drive-by visits and deliveries to seniors' homes. Recreation Coordinator Mike McAdam <br />also reported that the Goebel Center has hosted a vaccination clinic for the County of Ventura, <br />which to date has administered 34,725 vaccinations to residents of Thousand Oaks and <br />neighboring communities. <br />CSVP Director Julie Spivack shared details regarding the Conejo Senior Volunteer Program's <br />efforts during the pandemic. In December 2020, the Thousand Oaks City Council awarded CSVP <br />the COVID Relief Grant which enabled CSVP to provide volunteer services and hand -made <br />essentials to dozens of non-profit organizations in the community. On January 13, 2021, the annual <br />Wellness Fest event provided 400 seniors with lunch and wellness goodie bags. The Senior <br />Nutrition Program was converted to a drive-thru and walk-up format and has provided 46,700 meals <br />to seniors in the past year. The Free Income Tax Program began virtually in February and opened <br />to in-person appointments in April. So far, 32 volunteers have donated 5,000 work hours to prepare <br />more than 1,500 income tax returns at no cost for qualifying individuals and families, resulting in <br />$1.2 million in tax refunds. <br />Teen Services Director Sarah Daub shared that the Thousand Oaks Teen Center remains closed <br />for drop-in programming but has continued to provide programs and services to teens in unique <br />ways. Classes for teens have been offered outdoors, virtually via Zoom, or indoors with <br />modifications. The Youth Outreach Program staff have hosted supervised remote learning hours <br />for middle school and high school students. While the facility has been closed, renovations have <br />
