q <br />A. WHEREAS, the Hillcrest Center for the Arts located within the Hillcrest Center at 403 <br />West Hillcrest a facility owned by the City of Thousand Oaks and leased to the District, <br />is an arts and cultural base of the community that provides locally generated art <br />programs, classes, exhibits, shows and related activities; and <br />B, WHEREAS, The Districts lease agreement with the City of Thousand Oaks establishes <br />the provision for Arts Council to administer certain recreationaL cultural,, and educational <br />services out of the facility that are consistent with public policy relating to community <br />needs in social and cultural programming areas; and <br />C. WHEREAS, limited space within the city exists to conduct art and cultural related <br />activities; and <br />D. WHEREAS, long standing cooperative programming has existed between both parties <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing recitals, the promises and <br />covenants set forth herein, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt an <br />sufficiency of which the Parties acknowledge, the Parties agree as follows. <br />1 . Purpose. To maintain a working collaboration that enhances the arts in the <br />community and bring resources together in a common purpose. To increase public and <br />community arts activity and visibility using joffit resources. To carry -out these purposes <br />on a self-sustaining basis, with limited effort and resources on the part of the District. <br />2. Facilities, The Hillcrest Center for the Arts includes the following areas: <br />* The Theatre on the Hill including, two (2) Dressing Rooms, Green <br />Room, and Scene Shop, and Box Office. <br />0 The Hall of Miffors (formerly known as the Large Rehearsal Room) <br />* The Small Rehearsal Room <br />U <br />
