q A. WHEREAS, the Hillcrest Center for the Arts located within the Hillcrest Center at 403 West Hillcrest a facility owned by the City of Thousand Oaks and leased to the District, is an arts and cultural base of the community that provides locally generated art programs, classes, exhibits, shows and related activities; and B, WHEREAS, The Districts lease agreement with the City of Thousand Oaks establishes the provision for Arts Council to administer certain recreationaL cultural,, and educational services out of the facility that are consistent with public policy relating to community needs in social and cultural programming areas; and C. WHEREAS, limited space within the city exists to conduct art and cultural related activities; and D. WHEREAS, long standing cooperative programming has existed between both parties NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing recitals, the promises and covenants set forth herein, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt an sufficiency of which the Parties acknowledge, the Parties agree as follows. 1 . Purpose. To maintain a working collaboration that enhances the arts in the community and bring resources together in a common purpose. To increase public and community arts activity and visibility using joffit resources. To carry -out these purposes on a self-sustaining basis, with limited effort and resources on the part of the District. 2.
