August 2; 2001 Page 4 B. Approval To Execute Annual Lease Renewal With Ride On Sorensen noted the presence of Byran McQueeney, Executive Director of Ride On. McQueeney highlighted recent events and challenges, praised the professionalism of the Therapeutic staff, invited everyone to witness the progress of site improvements and programs, discussed program expansion, discussed the September 8 benefit dinner sponsored by David Murdock, CEO of Dole, and expressed appreciation for the District's support and leadership. Board members commended the program, requested more information on fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities, and urged expanding community awareness. It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to authorize staff to execute the submitted annual lease renewal with Ride On for $40 per year. A. Adoption Of Resolution Number 080201-13, A Resolution Declaring District -Owned Properties Surplus Land And Declaring Intent To Sell Parcels 669-"10-305 (155 East Wilbur Road) And 667-0-120-380 (Rancho Conejo Boulevard) Sorensen provided background information relative to the District -owned building at 155 East Wilbur Road, the District's current office, and the 3.12 - acre District -owned parcel within the Conejo Ridge Business Park in Rancho Conejo, and stated that the District is in compliance with the California Government Code for sale of surplus public property. He stated that the Rancho Conejo property has no present or contemplated public use; and the Wilbur property will be of no use to the District once the District moves its offices to 401 Hillcrest. Jacobsen requested that in the future a site map be provided. Sorensen said that the District regularly receives notices of sale of surplus land, and in response to Gibson's inquiry, Sorensen said that in September staff will return to the Board for consideration of a request for sale of the properties. Ward said that the Hill Canyon debt has been satisfied.
