Recreation Division Highlights Page 2 of 5 Revised 03.2021
Dos Vientos Community Center

Leprechaun Gold Hunt
The Dos Vientos Community was very excited to host the Leprechaun Gold Hunt on St. Patrick’s
Day. For $20 participants received 2 cookies with separate frosting and sprinkles for decorating,
a felt Leprechaun with loose adornments to attach, and a treasure map to use once they had
completed their crafts. This pop-up event idea was so popular that we filled up and had a waitlist,
but we could not take any more participants because the specific supplies needed were no longer
available. Waitlisted people showed up anyways and went Gold Hunting on their own. Fortunately,
DVC staff went out to the treasure sites where they found leprechauns stuffing their pockets with
gold coins, but DVC’s very own Recreation Specialist, Matthew O’Neill, was able to have the pot
o’ gold restore with little coercion and a little luck o’ the Irish.

Goebel Adult Community Center
New Spring Class: Hokey Pokey Basics
Join us at the Goebel Center as we learn how to answer the life-long question “What is Life All
About?” Seniors will enjoy participating in the basics of moving our limbs in and then out, shaking
them all about, turning yourself around and coming to the realization “That’s What it’s All About!”
and then doing it all over again! We are currently taking an interest list for the class and
participants will be chosen with a giant game of Duck, Duck, Goose. If the chosen senior can make
it past our Goebel staff person and sit down before them, they are in!!
