March 18, 2021 <br />Page 5 <br />C. Budget Performance Report — February 2021 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />Flk. Parks Division Report <br />-0 <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis referenced Rec Highlights. The upcoming "You've Been Egged" event is sold out. <br />The Thousand Oaks Community Center and Teen Center are seeing more teens <br />participating in programs. The recent St. Patrick's Day "Lucky Leprechaun Bingo" event <br />at the Goebel Adult Community Center sold out. Ride On has been working with Dos <br />Vientos Community Center as an independent contractor for programs at Rancho <br />Potrero. Recreation staff is busy prepping for summer; lots of summer staff will be <br />needed. Spring registration is looking good; in term of numbers, they are ahead of last <br />year and two years ago. Callis thanked Tim Hagel for his tremendous contributions to <br />Safe Passage. Summer concerts are on the calendar; they are being planned for the <br />Oaks Mail parking lot and tickets will be available online. The 4t"ofJuly fireworks are <br />on the calendar as well. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Smith mentioned Ventura County's movement to the "Red Tier" as well as the Rescue <br />Act; public agencies are now eligible for some tax relief. Smith is researching on behalf <br />of the District and will be seeking guidance from Liebert Cassidy. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl mentioned the Federal Relief Act package; although the District cannot get any <br />direct funding, CRPD can approach the City and County and seek reimbursement for <br />expenses and lost revenue. Although there is no clear formula as yet, Friedl will <br />continue to pursue. Next Thursday, the Ad Hoc Revenue Measure Committee will be <br />meeting with District consultants to discuss plans for continuing the Revenue Measure <br />effort. Friedl referenced the CRPD- comment letter sent to the City regarding the City's <br />General Plan Update and its possible effects on the parks per population ratios and <br />CRPD's ability to provide a park within about 1/2 mile (or a 10 -minute walk) to new <br />housing. <br />
