Recreation Division Highlights Page 4 of 5 Revised 01.2021 <br />Upcoming Events <br />Conejo Senior Volunteer Program <br /> <br />• 7th Annual Wellness Fest Wednesday, 1/13/21 from 11:30am-1:30pm; The Conejo Senior <br />Volunteer Program (CSVP) presents its 7th Annual Wellness Fest to the Conejo Valley, albeit in a somewhat different fashion – this year, the well-attended event is going “On the Road!” <br />Local seniors who are interested in discovering what area agencies and businesses have to offer them can drive-thru the Wellness Fest at the Goebel Center, picking up free goody <br />bags and lunches. CSVP staff at the Drive-Thru “Wellness Fest on the Road” will hand out vendor goody bags filled with current wellness information from more than 25 local partner <br />agencies at no cost. Four hundred free lunches, sponsored by The Reserve at Thousand Oaks, will be distributed as well as CSVP’s senior services-focused 2021 Conejo Valley <br />Partner Agency Resource Directory. Registration is full, with 100 people on the waitlist. CSVP Staff and Advisory Council stuffed 400 Goody Bags in the Main Hall at the Goebel <br />Center last week. <br />Goebel Adult Community Center <br />• Follow the Money Wednesday, 1/20/21 at 2:30pm via Zoom; An exploration into the business side of senior contracts and services. What is on an assisted living lease that is <br />different from other leases? Are home or apartment rental contracts different for seniors? It is important to know how businesses offering senior services make their money. Learn <br />the ask the right questions and read your contracts properly. Facilitated by Annette <br />Broersma, M.S. <br />• Navigating Cancer with COVID Wednesday, 1/27/21 at 10:00am via Zoom; Although these are unprecedented times, Dr Ashwin Kashyap (City of Hope) will address the importance of <br />continuing cancer care and screenings. Comprehensive cancer centers like City of Hope, which are not part of general acute care medical centers, are focused on cancer care and <br />therefore better equipped to treat cancer patients while protecting them from COVID-19. <br />Presented by Dr. Ashwin Kashyap. <br />
