I om <br />Notes to the Financial Statements <br />June 30, 2020 <br />Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority <br />The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) was established on June 27, <br />1985, under a joint powers agreement entered into by the District and the Santa Monica <br />Mountains Conservancy (the "Conservancy") for and with the purpose of acquiring, developing, <br />and conserving additional park and green space land with special emphasis on water -oriented <br />recreation and conservation projects within both the Santa Monica Mountains Zone and the <br />District's boundaries. On August 3, 1987, the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District ("Rancho <br />District") became a party to the joint powers agreement and a member of MRCA. There was no <br />contribution made by the District to MRCA. <br />MRCA is governed by a four -member board consisting of one member of the District, one member <br />of the Conservancy, the General Manager of the Rancho Simi District, and one at -large member. <br />Separate audited financial statements for MRCA are available at 570 West Avenue 26, Suite 100, <br />Los Angeles, CA 90065. <br />"Lev <br />
