December 17, 2020 <br />Page 4 <br />hoped this will come before the CRPD Board of Directors for approval <br />sometime in the next few months. <br />Recreation Divisl'on Report <br />Callis thanked the Directors for attending the Holiday Drive-Thru Staff <br />Appreciation Lunch yesterday. She also thanked are for impersonating "you <br />know who" and speaking to over 50 families via zoom. Tomorrow and <br />Saturday evening is the "Rockin' Around the Park" Holiday Drive-Thru. The <br />Goebel Center is partnering with the Rotary Club of Westlake Village to do a <br />drive-thru holiday breakfast tomorrow morning. Additionally, the Goebel <br />Center facilitated gifts for seniors through the use of a "giving tree"; there were <br />63 recipients. There will be some camps provided for children during winter <br />break. Shelly Howell, Human Resources Supervisor, is doing a great job of <br />communicating to employees regarding COVID-19, and the public is <br />appreciative of the District's transparency with regard to the virus and the <br />precautions being taken. Staff is coming up with a lot of creative holiday <br />programming. The large movie screen (nicknamed "The Monster), which will <br />be used for "drive-in movies," has arrived. Callis mentioned Pete Martinez' <br />retirement and how much he will be missed; his impact on the community and <br />support of local youth is immeasurable. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Smith reported HR Supervisor Howell has done a stellar job of managing all <br />the rules and regulations during this time, she is a huge resource to both <br />CRPD and to the MRCA. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl has been busy gathering information from other Special District General <br />Managers regarding possible reimbursement for expenses related to COVID- <br />19. Friedl and some other GMs met with the County; he will continue to collect <br />information and hopes to have an information package to present to County <br />in early January. A Strategic Planning Session is being planned for the first <br />Board meeting in 2021; the meeting will likely start at 4-00 pm. The second <br />January board meeting will include the Audit, the Reserves Policy, and a <br />Personnel Policy update. 2021 will see the beginning of labor negotiations <br />and a new 2 -year budget cycle. <br />E.
