Holt, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />Nellie Cusworth, Director <br />DATE: <br />November 19, 2020 <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />TO: <br />Board of Directors <br />FROM: <br />Jim Friedl, General Manag <br />SUBJECT: <br />Amendment #1 to Contract ' Andrew Goodwin Designs in the amount of $190,761 <br />for Phase 3 of Environmental, Landscape Architectural, and Architectural Services <br />for Conejo Community Park and Center Improvements <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Authorize General Manager to enter into Amendment #1 to the contract with Andrew Goodwin Designs in <br />the total amount of $190,761 for Phase 3 of environmental, landscape architectural, and architectural <br />services for Conejo Community Park and Center Improvements. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In June 2020, the District entered into a contract with Andrew Goodwin Designs (AGD) in the amount of <br />$137,584 for Phase 1 and 2 of environmental and design services for Conejo Community Park and Center <br />Improvements. Since that time, AGD: <br />• Met with key District staff from the Recreation and Parks divisions to further assess project <br />needs, <br />• Visited the site numerous times with the consultant team for field survey, tree assessment, <br />utility review, and design review, <br />• Prepared draft schematic plans, <br />® Refined schematic plans with staff input, <br />• Presented final schematic plans to staff, <br />• Worked on preparing the Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration. <br />From these efforts, a well-received schematic plan package (Attachment A), which includes renovation of <br />existing park features as well as a new expanded community center building, was presented in several <br />public and stakeholder meetings. <br />District staff prepared and recommends entering into Amendment #1 (Attachment B) with AGD to provide <br />the Phase 3 design development and environmental services for this project.
