Ardalan is known to be a good contractor; although they have never done <br />work for the District, they are a preferred contractor for the Conejo Valley Unified School <br />District . <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to: <br />1. Determine that the Thousand Oaks Community Center Pre -School Restroom <br />Improvement Project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental <br />Quality Act (CEQA). <br />2. Appropriate $85,000 from Districtwide Assessment Fund Balance to fund <br />Thousand Oaks Community Center Pre -School Restroom Improvement Project <br />(account 62-803-851-81002.015) <br />3. Award bid to Ardalan Construction for $129,400 Base Bid plus contingency in the <br />amount of $14,750, totaling $144,150 for construction of restroom and additional <br />storage. <br />10. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis urged all Board members to read the Rec highlights provided them this evening. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />No report. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl expressed appreciation for CRPD staff as they respond with creativity and flexibility <br />during this difficult time. The formation of a Rancho Portrero Ad Hoc Committee is scheduled <br />to be on the City's next Council agenda. Ventura County has extended the public health <br />order; additional guidance and communication is expected to be released soon. <br />E. Directors Reports <br />Director Cusworth recently visited many District parks and noted they are being fully utilized; <br />most users are following social distancing protocols. Director Nickles attended a "zoom" <br />meeting earlier this week with CRPD staff and Jeanette Hynson from Shilts Consulting. <br />
