CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />May 7, 2020 <br />6:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 6:03 pm and Cusworth led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt (via Zoom), Huffer (via Zoom), Lange (via Zoom), Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare, Smith (via Zoom) and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />County Partnerships in an Emergency <br />Callis introduced the following County, City and Red Cross employees: <br />Jeffery Garcia, Disaster Services Mgr., County of Ventura Human Services Agency, shared a <br />PowerPoint presentation that included background on a Mass Care and Shelter Plan which <br />commenced formulation in the summer of 2018. He reviewed the formulation process and shared <br />various elements including outcomes and expectations. He named the Emergency Operations <br />Center Key Partners and shared a Disaster Planning Response and Recovery Roadmap. <br />Grahame Wafts, Special Projects Mgr., City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Dept., presented a <br />snapshot of traditional emergency incidents and expressed appreciation for the relationships <br />between the City, the County, the Red Cross and Special Districts. He discussed the current <br />emergency (COVID-19) which has reinforced the need for a coordinated/common approach and <br />explained the various roles within the local government. He reviewed the multi -agency EOC <br />coordination and provided an org chart of the emergency response structure. <br />Daniel Maguire, Disaster Program Mgr., Ventura County Red Cross, expressed appreciation for <br />partnerships with the County, the City and CRPD. He presented a summary of the Activities, <br />Response and Projects necessary during the COVID-19 emergency and emphasized that <br />coordination with local cities is continuing. <br />Board members thanked all the presenters for sharing information from their agencies. Callis and <br />Friedl also expressed their appreciation for the agencies' representatives and for all of their support. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />
