March 19, 2020
Page 3
E. Resolution 031920-B Declaring and Joining with the City of Thousand Oaks'
Proclamation of the Existence of a Local Emergency and Rendering Certain
Emergency Orders related to the COVID-19 (aka "Coronavirus") Pandemic
Friedl reported on the necessity for this resolution. It is believed that the City's and County's
emergency declarations cover the District; however, this resolution may provide added
protection to the District and its necessary actions and decisions with respect to emergency
associated issues. It allows for the General Manager to dispense with certain purchasing
policies should the need arise. As of this evening, staff intends to continue with the regular
Board meeting schedule. Hare, Callis and Lewanda reviewed what their Divisions have done
in response to the pandemic. Staff answered Board member's questions; the Board
members thanked staff for their efforts during this difficult time.
It was moved by Nickles, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to adopt Resolution
031920-B Declaring and Joining with the City of Thousand Oaks' Proclamation and
Order of the Director of Emergency Services for the City of Thousand Oaks
Proclaiming of a Local Emergency, that it be read in title only and all further readings
be waived.
10.
