ITEM #9
We would like to have benches placed along the path way/walking trail
These suggested improvements will be considered in the above-mentioned conceptual plan in
ITEM #2.
ITEM #10
Our park closes at 10pm, and it gets dark as early as Spm. We have quite a few neighbors that
like to walls in the evening but are afraid to walk in the park because it is too dark. In the recent
months there are unfamiliar people sleeping and teens loitering in the park. Is it possible to get
some lights?
Generally, lights are not an amenity at a neighborhood park. Introducing lights at a neighborhood
park is a costly capital improvement that would have to be a part of the 10 Year Capital
Improvement Plan. Additionally, introducing lights into an area not currently lit would need buy in
from all the neighbors and City of Thousand Oaks Planning Department/Commission approval.
This improvement could be included in the below -mentioned general site improvements project in
ITEM #11
ITEM #11
If there is a grant or future money could we be considered to receive those funds to build a
bathroom? We have a lot of soccer teams, Frisbee Football Games, and children that need to
use a bathroom.
CRPD is always on the lookout for grant funds. A project for general site improvements at Kimber
including a restroom is in Year 9 (starting July 1, 2027) of the 10 Year Capital Improvement Plan.
If grant funds do become available for this purpose and area, this project could potentially move
up.
ITEM #12
The walking trail ties into the city sidewalk on Bear Creek, which creates problems with congestion
between walkers, joggers, children on bikes, and the handicap ramp. Is there a possibility that
we can have the walking trail moved inside the metal railings to prevent any problems or issues?
These suggested improvements will be considered in the above-mentioned conceptual plan in
ITEM #2; however, the cost benefit of adding a parallel trail to the sidewalk may not be worth it
and the funds might be better spent on other amenities mentioned.
ITEM #13
Sports accessories - We appreciate the volleyball court. Is there a chance to get a chain link
backstop for baseball/softball?
These suggested improvements will be considered in the above-mentioned conceptual plan in
ITEM #2; however, as mentioned in ITEM #11, the turf area is used for a variety of other sports
activities and a sports backstop might not mesh with these activities.
41 Page
