CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />October 17, 2019 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Huffer called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and Cusworth led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis and Hare, IT Supervisor <br />Segedie, and Administrative Assistant Dickson <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Conejo Valley Botanic Garden <br />Beverly Brune gave a report on the history of the garden, the improvements made possible <br />by the CRPD matching grant program, the various events at the garden, and the many <br />volunteers who have worked over the years to make the garden beautiful and enjoyable for <br />people of all ages. The Board expressed their appreciation for the garden and thanked <br />Beverly for her presentation. <br />Equestrian Trails, Inc. (ETI) Corral #37 <br />Sharyn Henry gave a presentation about the history of ETI Corral #37, their mission to <br />promote horsemanship, how it has evolved over the years, the various community programs <br />and events at the Conejo Creek Equestrian facility, and the improvements made to the <br />facility through a partnership with CRPD. She thanked the Board for their support. The Board <br />expressed their support for expanding community interest in horsemanship and thanked <br />Sharyn for her presentation. Lange encouraged the other Board members to attend the <br />various events at the facility. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Robert Fisher urged the Board to increase the parking at the Wildflower Playfields tennis <br />courts. Sharon Lounsberry, representing the Senior League Recreational Tennis Players, <br />presented a petition to the board for additional tennis courts, bathrooms, and parking at <br />the Wildflower Playfields.
