Records <br />retention is vital for organizing and managing the information and records in possession of the <br />District. Effective records management ensures that records are kept only as long as they have <br />some administrative, fiscal, or legal value. <br />Government Code Section 60201 provides for the destruction of records for special districts in <br />accordance with a standard protocol. The attached Resolution establishes a standard protocol <br />for destruction or disposition of records. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN COMPLIANCE <br />6.3 Update and maintain a records management system.
