CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />April 4, 2019 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Huffer called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. and Braff led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Cusworth, Holt, Huffer, Lange, Nickles <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Lewanda, <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Part -Time Service Awards <br />Christopher Brauer, Conejo Community Center <br />Zenaida Flores, Borchard Community Center <br />Melanie Gonzalez, Therapeutic Recreation Unit <br />Jennifer Hill, Dos Vientos Community Center <br />Erin Sweeney, Hillcrest Center for the Arts <br />Mark Williams, Goebel Adult Community Center <br />Callis introduced the recipients, presented overviews of their professional and academic <br />accomplishments, and thanked them for their outstanding contributions to the District. Recipients <br />thanked the Board, co-workers, and families for their support, and expressed appreciation for the <br />award. <br />Directors congratulated and thanked recipients for their contributions and efforts on the <br />District's behalf. <br />Las Flores Community Garden (LFCG) <br />Hare introduced Jimmy Winston, President, LFCG. Winston thanked CRPD and the Board of <br />Directors for their support over the years. He presented a slide show highlighting membership <br />details and statistics, collaborations, and various areas of the garden, including the children's <br />garden, a butterfly habitat, easy access plots, compost bins, and an herb garden. He shared <br />improvements made in 2018 including a walkway and a pergola in the children's garden, security <br />cameras, and easy access boxes. <br />
