Minutes 5-24-00 <br />Page 6 <br />Adair said that he took pictures at the Senior Festival, and discussed <br />problems with Dial A Ride service and Animal Control. <br />Hogg expressed concern about the slow response to the expressed need for <br />center expansion. He suggested that an ad hoc committee be appointed. <br />Staff explained that a facility usage inventory was completed, the center is a <br />City of Thousand Oaks facility, the City has been advised of the issue, a <br />consultant has been included in the discussions to help identify structural <br />options, another meeting to discuss possible center expansion is scheduled <br />for May 25, Commission response and feedback will be part of the process, <br />and viable alternatives should be identified prior to involving an advisory <br />group. <br />In response to Adair's inquiry, Ward said that the new continuation high <br />school, Moorpark College extension, and the planned library expansion will <br />have an impact on Janss Road traffic. <br />In response to Fiorita's inquiry about changing the time and location of <br />Commission meetings, it was not determined that the meeting time and <br />location were problems for a majority of the commissioners. Wiley said that <br />although the Commission bylaws indicate the meeting time to be 1:30 p.m., in <br />September 1999 the Commission voted to temporarily change the time. <br />Giovenco presented an update on research for new bingo equipment, and <br />said that, because the research is still incomplete, a recommendation would <br />not be appropriate at this time. <br />B.
