July 19, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br />It was moved by Lange, Seconded by Huffer, and carried 3-0 to create Ad Hoc <br />Committee of the Board of Directors to evaluate Off -Leash Area issues. <br />Huffer recommended Director Jones and Lange recommended Director Huffer serve on this <br />committee. <br />It was moved by Huffer, seconded by Lange, and carried 3-0 that the Ad Hoc <br />Committee of the Board of Directors to evaluate Off -Leash Area issues be comprised <br />of Directors Huffer and Jones. <br />10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />A. Park Dedication Fee <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare absent. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Callis referenced "Rec Highlights" and invited all to the Concert in the Park this Sunday. Her <br />assistant, Linda Hessman is retiring. Board members are invited to stop by Hillcrest Center <br />to say goodbye on July 26th from 11:30 am -1:00 pm. Callis has beendoing some site visits; <br />she continues to be impressed by her Recreation team. The Young Artists Ensemble <br />performance of "In the Heights" opens on Friday, July 27th. <br />C. Management Services Division Report <br />Lewanda absent. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Friedl reported on some legislation regarding Special District Board Member compensation. <br />Tomorrow morning Callis, Duerr, Olbrich, and Friedl will meet with representatives from the <br />Safe Passage program; the meeting will be held at California Lutheran University where <br />some longitudinal studies/reports are being created on this program. Due to media inquiry, <br />Friedl gave an update on the disposition of the wood from the historic Dos Vientos. Much of <br />the wood was salvagedlrepurposed for the blacksmith shop at the Stagecoach Inn. The <br />remaining wood is still at Rancho Potrero and should be removed in the near future. During <br />Friedl's absence through Monday afternoon, Callis will be acting General Manager. The City <br />of Thousand Oaks approved the Teen and Senior Center lease expansions/operating <br />agreements; on August 22"i, a meeting is planned between District staff and City staff to <br />revisit and reenergize the agreements. <br />
