CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />April 5, 201 S <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Holt called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm and Boone led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Huffer, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson, Jones <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and Lewanda and <br />Executive Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Conejo Valley Historical Society <br />Kathy Boone, First Vice President and acting Stagecoach Inn Museum Director, introduced Bert <br />Weyl, President of the Conejo Valley Historical Society. She thanked CRPD for their assistance and <br />partnership over the past year. Boone reported on recent work done around the museum property <br />and reviewed various museum activities, exhibits and special events, as well as challenges the <br />museum faces. A PowerPoint presentation provided photos of events held throughout the year. <br />Boone and Weyl answered Board member's questions. Boone and Weyl were thanked for their <br />service. <br />Cultural Department — "Conejo Theatre for Everyone" <br />Megan McDonough, Cultural Programs Coordinator, introduced Cecilia Laufenberg, CRPD <br />Therapeutics Unit Supervisor, Suzanne Tobin, Director of Madagascar Jr., Abigail Arnal, Conejo <br />Theatre for Everyone (CTFE) participant and Zach Spencer, CTFE Musical Director and <br />accompanist. McDonough reviewed the history of the CTFE program and its purpose and goals. It <br />was formed in 2005; the shows are double cast with Young Artists Ensemble actors partnering with <br />performers with disabilities. Tobin expressed her appreciation for her participation in the program. <br />Arnell performed 'Wild and Free" from Madagascar Jr. <br />McDonough answered Board member's questions and was thanked for her informative presentation. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Doug Nickles, Thousand Oaks, thanked the District for the successful organization of the Persian <br />New Year event last week at Conejo Creek North Park. <br />
