Year -in -Review Memo <br />December 7, 2017 <br />Page 4 <br />development, ETI Corral 37 for dressage arena improvements, and Newbury Park High <br />School for an aquatics timer/scoreboard. <br />0 Completed Phase 1 of needs assessment of Therapeutic Recreation Program. <br />• Completed construction of improvements at Northwood Neighborhood Park (restroom, <br />playground, basketball & sand volleyball court & landscaping improvements). <br />® Awarded bid for construction of field restrooms at Thousand Oaks Community Park. <br />Completed turf conversion/water conservation projects at final 3 of 29 parks, including <br />Rancho Conejo Playfields, Northwood Neighborhood Park and Triunfo Community Park <br />(which included conversion to reclaimed water at Triunfo). <br />Held numerous community events such as: Arts & Crafts Festival, Persian New Year, <br />Spring Fest, Touch -A -Truck, Flashlight Egg Hunt, Bark in the Park, Wildwood Trail Run, <br />Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast, Home Run Derby, Open Pools and Fireworks, Fishing <br />Frenzy, Summer Concerts in the Park, Haunted Trails, Kids Swap Meet, Silver Starlight <br />Ball. Plus, by working closely with other groups and organizations, the District hosted <br />many large community events on its property such as the Chili Cook -off, Conejo Valley <br />Days, Oakheart Music Festival, Arbor/Earth Day, Brewfest, Reign of Terror Haunted <br />House, Prom... again! (raising over $40,000 for the Dreamcatcher Playground), COSCA's <br />Trail Work Days and 40th Anniversary celebration, along with accommodating a multitude <br />of group picnics. <br />In addition to these various activities and accomplishments in 2017, with the Board's direction <br />and support, and through the commitment and hard work of District staff, the District continues <br />to maintain more than 50 parks and facilities covering approximately 1,000 acres, offers <br />thousands of recreation programs annually, and hosts dozens of special events open to the <br />community, and maintains partnerships and relationships with dozens of institutions, nonprofits <br />and community organizations to offer a broad spectrum of recreational opportunities and <br />facilities. <br />
