1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />October 19, 2097 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm and Laufenberg led the flag salute <br />ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson, Huffer <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis, Hare and <br />Lewanda, and Executive Assistant Reynders <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Introducing CRPD's Arts Council of the Conejo Valley (ACCV) Conejo <br />Cottontail Named.... (Big Revealll) <br />Callis referenced the Board's approval, in May of 2016, to participate in the ACCV <br />shared public art project, Conejo Cottontail, which is a collaboration between ACCV <br />and ArtTrek to encourage public art in the community. Local businesses and <br />organizations have the opportunity to purchase a 5-Y foot rabbit designed by local <br />artists. Sheila Fein created CRPD's bunny, whose name, Parker, was chosen after <br />asking community members to submit suggestions. Callis offered a PowerPoint <br />presentation reviewing Parker's travels around the District. Nan Young, Executive <br />Director of Art Trek, informed the Board of where proceeds from this project will be <br />used, including offering classes at PathPoint and at Senior Concerns. Also <br />attending the meeting was Connie Tunick from ACCV and Cate Hartenstein, the <br />bunny's sculptor. <br />(Director Gibson arrived 7:21 pm) <br />ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Jones, seconded by Holt and carried 4-0 to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />
