CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />July 20, 2017 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm and Reynders led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Gibson, Holt, Huffer, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Callis and Lewanda, and Executive <br />Assistant Reynders <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Laura Beth Heisen, Thousand Oaks, spoke in favor of adding grass to neighborhood Off -Leash <br />Areas (OLAs). <br />Karen Hoffman, Thousand Oaks, expressed agreement with the previous speaker's comments. <br />Mike Madec, Thousand Oaks, would like to see grass returned to at least half of the space at the <br />OLAs. <br />Genevieve Wood, Newbury Park, would like to see more dog parks/OLAs in Thousand Oaks. <br />Alix Gabby, Newbury Park, expressed concern over the dwindling number of dog park users due to <br />current conditions. <br />Ron Neubauer, Thousand Oaks, would like to see restoration of what was originally provided at <br />OLAs. <br />Aria Solomon, Thousand Oaks, would like to see pickleball courts at Triunfo Park. <br />Judi Dolan, Thousand Oaks, would like to see pickleball courts at Triunfo Park. <br />Joanna Bernstein, Thousand Oaks, would like grass back at the Walnut Park OLA. <br />Susan Shotsky, Thousand Oaks, is concerned about the turf quality at the Conejo Creek Dog Park, <br />especially near the entrance. <br />
