Due to combining
the two seasons' total participation numbers and programs offered may be significantly higher
when compared with years past. Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 53,262 units of
participation. The daily drop-in average of 300 participants comprised a total of 36,600 units of
participation.
Eleven -hundred and sixty-four teens were actively involved in recreation classes, workshops,
league play, the Teen Leadership Club and the Advisory Committees. The Teen Center offered
75 programs; the most popular included Middle School Sports Leagues, BLAST, the Saturday
Morning Girls Volleyball League, and Holiday Baking. Twenty-one hundred and thirty teens
attended special events, another 4,032 participated in cooperative programs, and 9,336 used the
facility on a permit basis.
The Teen Center Advisory Committee received a generous contribution from the Reign Of
Terror at the Janss Marketplace in the amount of $15,000. Another $5,000 was donated as a
result from our cooperative effort with the 5th annual Mud Run. The Advisory Committee also
received $900 in cash, and $1,527 in prizes to assist with the annual New Year's Eve
Celebration. Community support remains strong.
1375 E.
