CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Benton led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Assistant General Manager Friedl, <br />Administrators Benton and Lewanda, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />COSTAC Trail Education Days Essay Contest Winners <br />Gina Smirthwaite highlighted the fifth annual Conejo Open Space Trails Advisory <br />Council (COSTAC) essay contest. She said that 891 essays from 5th grade <br />students in 20 schools were received. She introduced three of the winners, <br />Katelyn Masket, Kimberly Vo and Jamie Smith. She thanked the parents and <br />District for their support of COSTAC. <br />On behalf of the District, Holt presented gifts to the winners. Board members <br />commended the winners, teachers, participants and COSTAC volunteers.
