Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with Senel Construction and Engineering, increasing the not -to -exceed amount from $200,000 to $600,000 for the first year for potential turf conversion services at parks throughout the District. 2. Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with FS Contractors, Inc., increasing the not -to -exceed amount from $200,000 to $600,000 for the first year for potential turf conversion services at parks throughout the District. DISCUSSION On June 2, 2016, the District awarded contracts (attached) to Senel Construction and Engineering and FS Contractors, Inc. in the not -to -exceed amount of $200,000 annually for turf conversion services at various park facilities. Recently, the District was notified by the Metropolitan water Uistrict that 29 parks, on the waiting list for turf rebates since July 2015, have been approved. The 29 parks represent approximately 1.25 million square feet (29 acres) of turf and $870,000 in rebates. In order to receive the rebate funds, the projects must be completed in eight months. In order to continue to move forward with all the turf conversions, staff requests the not -to - exceed amounts be increased to $600,000 for each contractor for the first year. All other terms and conditions of the contract apply.
