Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with Senel <br />Construction and Engineering, increasing the not -to -exceed amount from $200,000 to <br />$600,000 for the first year for potential turf conversion services at parks throughout the <br />District. <br />2. Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with FS Contractors, <br />Inc., increasing the not -to -exceed amount from $200,000 to $600,000 for the first year for <br />potential turf conversion services at parks throughout the District. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On June 2, 2016, the District awarded contracts (attached) to Senel Construction and <br />Engineering and FS Contractors, Inc. in the not -to -exceed amount of $200,000 annually for turf <br />conversion services at various park facilities. <br />Recently, the District was notified by the Metropolitan water Uistrict that 29 parks, on the waiting <br />list for turf rebates since July 2015, have been approved. The 29 parks represent approximately <br />1.25 million square feet (29 acres) of turf and $870,000 in rebates. In order to receive the <br />rebate funds, the projects must be completed in eight months. <br />In order to continue to move forward with all the turf conversions, staff requests the not -to - <br />exceed amounts be increased to $600,000 for each contractor for the first year.
