<br />Award Bid for North Ranch Neighborhood Park Reclaimed Irrigation Water
<br />Project
<br />RECOMMENDATION
<br />1. Appropriate $40,000 from Turf Conversion Accounts.
<br />2. Award bid to United Construction and Landscape, Inc. for $316,600 (Base Bid
<br />$186,600 plus Add Alternate #1 $130,000) plus contingency in the amount of
<br />$28,400, totaling $345,000 for irrigation equipment modification from potable to
<br />reclaimed water irrigation system, including new reclaimed water mainline and pump
<br />installation, backflow removal, existing valves, heads, mainline, and drinking fountain
<br />modification, installation of new potable water line, turf renovation and mulch
<br />groundcover installation.
<br />BACKGROUND
<br />This project was previously advertised and bid; two bids were received with one being
<br />determined unresponsive. Thus, on October 15, 2015, the Board of Directors voted to
<br />re -bid the project due to the lack of bids.
<br />A Notice Inviting Bids was advertised in the Ventura County Star, Construction
<br />Bidboard, Inc., Builder's Notebook, Ventura County Contractor's Association, Inc., and
<br />posted on the District website. Four interested bidders attended the mandatory pre-bid
<br />meeting held at the site on Monday, November 2nd, in addition to the seven interested
<br />bidders that attended the previous mandatory pre-bid meeting Tuesday, October 1$t.
<br />Four bids were received and were opened at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24th.
