Holt, Director <br />Joe Gibson, Director <br />Ed Jones, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />SUBJECT: Resolution No. 021816-A Authorizing the Submittal of the Older Americans Act <br />Grant Application to Ventura County Area Agency on Aging for the Project Year <br />July 1, 2016 — June 30, 2017 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution authorizing submittal of the Older Americans Act Grant Application. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The District assumed responsibility for administration of the Senior Nutrition Program from the City of <br />Thousand Oaks in July 2010. The congregate lunch program is conducted from 11.30 am to 12:30 pm, <br />Monday through Friday at the Goebel Adult Community Center. The dining room seats 56 people at one <br />time, an average of 50 patrons are served daily. This service provides seniors with a nutritious meal and a <br />place to socialize with their peers. <br />This past year, and effective July 2015, CRPD and VCAAA worked cooperatively to transition from a grant <br />relationship to a vendor relationship. One "carry-over" responsibility from the grant relationship is the <br />annual grant proposal request for Older American Act funds. <br />The grant the District receives from the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging assists with the operating <br />costs related to the program.
