Recreation & Community Services <br />Recreation Division Highlights Page 1 of 7 Revised 07.2021 <br /> Recreation Division Highlights <br />Thursday, July 8, 2021 <br /> Independence Day Activities <br /> Summer Concerts in the Park <br />On Sunday, July 4, the Concert in the Park series resumed without any COVID restrictions. The <br />event was free to the public and there were no restrictions on crowd sizes. The Angel City Dixieland Band performed toe tapping, early American Jazz favorites and classic patriotic tunes to an <br />estimated crowd of 1,500 – 2,000 people. Several families capped off their 4th of July celebration by staying after the concert to view the fire work show from Conejo Community Park. The next <br />concert featuring, “The Riverside” will take place on Sunday, July 25th and the Epic Taco food truck, Mister Softee ice cream truck, and Hot Diggity Dog hot dog cart will be in attendance. <br />4th of July Fireworks Spectacular <br />The 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on the hill <br />was a big hit. We received local support from eight different sponsors as well as 22 patrons <br />helping support show. <br />The sponsors included CastComm, Berkshire <br />Hathaway, Mustang Marketing, Shaw HR Consulting, Newberry Candy, Friends of the <br />Thousand Oaks Library, Thousand Oaks Plumbing, and Robert and Patricia Biery. <br />
