Lange, Director <br />Ed Jones, Director <br />Chuck Huffer, Director <br />GENERAL MANAGER EMERITUS <br />Tex Ward <br />Fund - Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership <br />Adopt Resolution 062118-A, approving application for participation in the Land and Water <br />Conservation Fund - Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program for the development of <br />Conejo Creek Southwest Park. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The National Park Service (NPS) is accepting applications for participation in the 2018 Outdoor <br />Recreation Legacy Partnership Program (ORLP). The ORLP is a nationally competitive grant <br />program funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The ORLP offers <br />competitive grants specifically to create and improve state and locally -owned parks and other <br />outdoor recreation areas. The goal of the program is to improve public access and re -connect <br />residents to the outdoors, particularly in city neighborhoods that lack parks and recreational <br />opportunities. A total of $13.3 million is available nation-wide. Each state may nominate up to <br />three projects requesting $250,000 - $750,000 per project application. ORLP grant projects must <br />be cost -shared with non-federal funds at a minimum ratio of 1:1. <br />District staff is recommending the development of Conejo Creek Southwest Park for the ORLP <br />application. Recently, the District submitted a proposal under the same name through the Urban <br />Greening Program, however, that application sought funding for the greening and circulation <br />improvements.
