CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 21, 2006 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m., and Recreation Coordinator <br />Matt Kouba led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt and Lange <br />Directors Absent: Jacobsen <br />Staff Present: General Manager Friedl, Administrators Hare and Lewanda, <br />Recreation Managers Wiley and Lindsey, Recreation Supervisor Engel, Recreation <br />Coordinator Kouba, and Executive Assistant Ohren <br />Gibson expressed birthday greetings to Engel and Kouba. <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Dos Vientos Community Center Presentation — Scott Engel and Matt Kouba <br />Engel and Kouba provided a presentation highlighting the activities and <br />accomplishments of the center, thanked the Board for its support, and stated their <br />pride in being part of the Dos Vientos Community Center team. They identified <br />many of the festivals, special events, sports activities and programs offered at the <br />center, including the pre-school and pre -kindergarten classes. They stated that a <br />wide range of programs is offered for all ages, and noted the positive relationships <br />the center enjoys with neighbors, local homeowner associations and schools. <br />Board members thanked Engel and Kouba for their endeavors at Dos Vientos <br />Community Center. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Dr. Kent Christenson expressed concern that his collection of artifacts on display <br />at Chumash Interpretative Center is in danger of confiscation, and requested <br />Board assistance in resolving the issue. <br />
