CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />June 15, 2017 <br />7:00 PM <br />HILLCREST CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Lange called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm and Guzman led the flag salute. A moment of <br />silence was observed for the victims of the Washington shooting and all political violence. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Holt, Jones, Lange <br />Directors Absent: Gibson, Huffer <br />Staff Present: Administrators Callis, Hare, and Lewanda, and Executive Assistant <br />Reynders <br />3. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />4. EXECUTIVE CLOSED SESSION <br />CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS - Pursuant to Government Code Section <br />54957.6 — District Representatives: Adrianna Guzman, Esq; Administrator Lewanda and <br />Supervisor Howell Relative to Labor Negotiations with Service Employees International Union <br />(SEIU) (Represented Employees) and Salary Schedules and Fringe Benefits for Unrepresented <br />Employees <br />S. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Chumash Indian Museum <br />Barbara Tejada, Chair, Chumash Indian Museum Board of Directors, reviewed events and <br />changes at the Museum since last summer, including staff changes and a financial accounting; the <br />museum was closed, reorganized, and reopened after the Board deemed some major changes <br />were necessary. She introduced Nobel Eisenlauer, Board Treasurer and Alan Salazar, Chumash <br />Cultural Educator who both added pertinent information to the presentation. The museum's focus <br />will include re -building the organization, increasing social media presence, improving and <br />expanding the school tour program, volunteer expansion, wedding and filming opportunities, and <br />offering an expanded speaker series. Tejada answered Board Member's questions and was <br />thanked for her informative presentation. <br />(Gibson arrived 7:40 pm) <br />
