NEW ITEMS <br />A. 2"d Runoff Election — Casting CRPD Ballot for Special District <br />Alternate Member to the Ventura Local Agency Formation <br />Commission (LAFCO) <br />It was moved by Jones, seconded by Gibson and carried 5-0 to vote for Al <br />Fox as the choice for Special District Alternate Member to Ventura LAFCO. <br />10. FACILITIES TOUR <br />Site 1 Conejo Creek North, 1379 East Janss Road <br />Friedl introduced Kathy Lowry, from the City of Thousand Oaks Public Works <br />Department. She distributed a handout illustrating a conceptual design of the <br />Conejo Creek North Park Equestrian and Bike Path Improvements and provided <br />detailed information about the project and its timeline. <br />SITE 2 Sunset Hills Park, 3350 Monte Carlo <br />Hare reported Sunset Hips Park was one of the first turf conversion projects the <br />District completed due to the drought. The water was turned off in the spring of <br />2015 and the conversion began in summer of 2015; this park is a good <br />illustration of a mature turf conversion. <br />SITE 3 Northwood Park, 3620 Avenue Verano <br />Hare provided a history of Northwood Park; originally its only amenity was a dirt <br />walking path. Once a master plan was approved, improvements were completed <br />in phases. Phase 1 included grading and irrigation; Phase 2 added a rubberized <br />surface to the walking path, picnic tables, barbecues and exercise equipment. At <br />the park's grand opening, neighbors expressed interest in adding even more <br />amenities. In November, the Board approved additional park improvements and <br />turf conversion. <br />SITE 4 Rancho Conejo Playfields, 950 Ventu Park Road <br />Hare showed the difference between the older turf conversions and the newer <br />ones; those that were completed first are in need of new mulch.
