We appreciate
the staff's efforts. The community is seeking a few minor additions to the staff's recommendations.
• A strip north of the softball field (purple) be restored to turf with irrigation. Families use this
shaded area to escape the sun during the summer when watching their kids practice baseball, football
and to watch the cricket games.
• A strip along the entrance of the main parking lot (purple) where families gather in the shade to watch
soccer and flag football practice. We ask this be restored to turf with irrigation.
A strip along right field near the main entrance (orange) be restored to turf. Families sit here in the
shade to watch their children play baseball during the summer and fall heat. This area is partially
under oak trees so it doesn't need irrigation.
• A small area adjacent to the tennis courts be left as turf, preferably with irrigation. This area is used
for picnics, kids and dogs play on the moderate slope. It is one of the few usable slopes not covered
with mulch. Mulch will make it unusable.
These areas may be small but they are important to the usability and enjoyment of the park.
I appreciate your consideration and look forward to this evening's meeting.
Cordially,
Jake Nonnemaker
Triunfo Park Community Council
818-384-6103
