CONEJO RECREATION & PARK DISTRICT <br />Job Title: Grounds Worker III <br />Division: Parks & Planning <br />Summary: <br />Under general supervision performs a variety of specialized and complex skilled grounds maintenance, <br />landscape and light construction tasks in accordance with District policies and procedures; works with a high <br />degree of independent judgment and interpretative ability, ensures that daily workload is carried out through <br />individual and cooperative efforts; organizes subordinate personnel'zed volunteers in performing specialized <br />maintenance and light construction activities; organizes tasks wA user groups; performs preventive <br />maintenance of properties owned by the District. <br />Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <br />➢ Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve grg*th, using hand and poor saws. <br />➢ Maintains turf areas by mowing, edging, weeding; fertilizing, spraying using.cticides and herbicides, <br />aerating, and watering. <br />➢ Plants and removes trees, shrubs and plants. <br />➢ Prepares and maintains athletic field '"_ ' play areas, andxelated facilities. <br />airs <br />➢ Installs repairs, and maintains s rink P ' <br />Performs a variety of landscape and gro ma�e tasks *eluding debris and graffiti removal, keeping <br />park areas clean and safe. <br />➢ Operates a variety of pouf tools, hand tools,. and motor, driven equipment such as trucks and tractors. <br />➢ Prepares reports and.ks a vara of records <br />Performs specialize light constrAon and a tasks <br />➢ Patrols park area to assist general public and keep`&rk safe. <br />Other Duties ttnd R nsibili ies: <br />➢ May t t activity of ari lstant (lower level Grounds Workers or contractors) and volunteers. <br />➢ Seal coai:arking lots and`pts lines -and curbs. <br />➢ All other dutio as assigned. <br />May be mobilized in the event of a disaster. <br />Qualifications: <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perforin each essential duty satisfactorily. The <br />requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * <br />Education/Experience: <br />High school diploma or general education degree (GID); and three years related experience and/or <br />training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. <br />Language Ability: <br />Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and <br />procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present <br />information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and to visitors. <br />
