TO: City of Thousand Oaks and <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />FROM: Micah Akerson, Teen Services Director <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District 0 <br />DATE: November 3, 2016 <br />SUBJECT: Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Status Report Summer 2016 <br />Summary <br />June 1 st - August 31St <br />Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 3 1,6 82 units of participation. <br />The daily drop-in average of 300 participants comprised a total of 27,600 units of participation. <br />The Teen Center had a fantastic response to programs this past summer. Eight -hundred and <br />twenty-five (825) teens attended special events. Eleven hundred and thirty-four teens (1,134) <br />were registered in recreation classes, workshops, camps, excursions, league play, and the Teen <br />Leadership Volunteer Club. This summer the Teen Center offered more camps than previous <br />summers and many of these camps were at capacity. Some new camps included Teen Road Trip <br />Camp, 3D Modeling Using Maya, Hauser Boy's Basketball Camp and Movie Making Camp. <br />Favorite programs for the summer included: Joy of Chemistry, Mike Waters COED Volleyball, <br />Surf Camp, Anime Style Drawing, Desserts from Around the World, American Sign Language, <br />JAVA Programming for Earnest Beginners and Teens Helping Animals Camp. The High School <br />Summer Basketball League also had exceptional participation. Additionally 2,775 seniors, teens <br />and community members utilized the facility on a permit basis. <br />1375 E.
