TO: City of Thousand Oaks and <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />FROM: Micah Akerson, Teen Services Director <br />Conejo Recreation and Park District <br />DATE: May 22, 2014 <br />SUBJECT: Alex Fiore Thousand Oaks Teen Center <br />Status Report Fall/Fall Winter 2013 <br />Summary <br />September I" -December 31st <br />This status report combines the 2013 Fall and the 2013 Fall/Winter seasons. Due to combining <br />the two seasons total participation numbers and programs offered may be significantly higher <br />when compared with years past. Attendance at the Teen Center totaled 53,463 units of <br />participation. The daily drop-in average of 300 participants comprised a total of 36,600 units of <br />participation. <br />Eleven hundred and thirty-seven (1,137) teens were actively involved in recreation classes, <br />workshops, league play, the Teen Leadership Club and the Advisory Committees. The Teen <br />Center offered 93 programs; the most popular included Middle School Sports Leagues, <br />Dodgeball, the Saturday Morning Girls Volleyball League, and You Build It, You Keep It <br />Computer class. Twenty-seven hundred and twelve teens (2,712) attended special events, another <br />3,287 participated in cooperative programs, and 9,727 used the facility on a permit basis. <br />The Teen Center Advisory Committee received a generous contribution from the Reign Of <br />Terror at the Janss Marketplace in the amount of $9,000. The Advisory Committee also received <br />$1,400 in cash, and $1,402 in prizes to assist with the annual New Year's Eve Celebration. <br />Another $1,900 was donated as a result from our cooperative effort with the 4"' annual Mud Run. <br />Community support remains strong. <br />1375 E.
